Hi. I am Melissa Fitzgerald. I am a graduate of Bridgeport High School. I received my Bachelors degree from Texas Woman's University and my Masters degree from the University of North Texas. I am the Special Programs Coordinator (Special Education, ESL, 504, Dyslexia, and GT), and I teach 5th, 8th and 9th grade English. This is my 7th year at Slidell.

I have been married to my husband, Monty, for 19 years.  I have two daughters.  Makenzie is an 12^th grader, and Makayla is an 9th grader here at Slidell. My husband and I own an auction business in Bridgeport. My hobbies include reading, camping, and watching Texas Rangers baseball.  I also enjoy watching the Greyhounds and Lady Hounds compete in all of their activities.

I am looking forward to another great year. I believe that parents are an important part of the education process. I feel that students are more successful when teachers and parents work together.
