At Slidell ISD, the safety and security of our students is always our top priority. Our thorough safety program covers prevention, intervention, preparedness, emergency protocol, and building security.

SISD routinely reviews safety and security procedures and makes adjustments when necessary.  We work closely with local law enforcement to ensure that our students and faculty consistently practice our safety protocols and provide emergency training to our employees. We appreciate the continued support from students, staff, and our community to help keep our school safe.

We communicate via Twitter @Slidell_ISD, Facebook @slidell.greyhounds and through our Remind app.

Emergency Operations Plan - The district has a written Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) that includes the four primary areas of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery as well as different crisis scenarios used for staff training and emergency response planning.

School Resource Officers - Slidell ISD has armed, uniformed officers serving our campuses. These highly trained veteran officers build positive relationships with students and help ensure safety on campuses for students and staff.

Safety Drills - The district conducts different types of drills throughout the year. They include:

  • Lockout drills
  • Lockdown drills
  • Shelter drills
  • Evacuation drills
  • Hold in-class drills
